Row of Symbolic Posts?

A view of a part of London Bridge Ocean Beach on the Mornington Peninsula.
I understand why the fence on the left exists - to help walking down steep steps to the beach.
But why the isolated, unconnected posts along the sands?
Like a symbolic warning of unstable sands?

Intriguing! I occasionally see things like that here and wonder what they're for??? Terrific shot and words, Gemma! Hope your week is going well!

I wonder if rope once hung from post to post. I like the shadows - the posts and shadows create a zigzag line.

I some post like that when we were visiting in California. I also wonder why they were there. Will have to go google for an answer.

Kind of intriguing indeed.

Maybe they are just the remains of a long ago fence.

Great picture.

I have seen posts like that on dunes but there was a rope connecting them. Maybe this was a fence that was never completed. Love this shot!

Must have been prehistoric people like Stonehenge. Are they made of stone?
