AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Fisherman

Collage by Gemma Wiseman ~ A rainy misty Spring morning in the Dromana Hills, Mornington Peninsula can be a photo opportunity - even without sunlight!

Writer's Island 2010 ~ Prompt #21 ~ Fisherman
~

On misty wet days
I feel like a fisherman
Angling for sunlight

Within the grey gloom
Life's colours and shapes live on
Cloaked in mystery

Magic mystery
Fisherman discovers light
In fresh new waters

Namaste,

I am here yet again
The third time today
Angling for
The right words to say
:)
Happy to find colours bloom
In the grey gloom

kookaburra's are magical.... cannot forget the choral sounds they'd make in a eucalyptus tree line... it would be perfectly quiet and still and then they'd start up... never saw them up close so thank you for the fotos.. and didn't know they were part of the family of king fishers cuz they sure like similar... poetic words on a gray sky day... pescador
