AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Strange Thoughts in a Bubble Bath

Mag 28
~

Strange thoughts are born in a warm bath
Especially a warm bubble bath

I have never tried to play with
A found poem
That is
Until this afternoon
A chilly, rainy afternoon when
I found a marvellous Mastercard adverisement
A double page spread in a broadsheet

Easily I saw how the dust
From a stellar explosion
Conglomerating to form earth
Could be the first footstep in
A chain reaction

Gondwanaland separates
(Like my toes rising in the bubbly foam)
An Ice Age
Boulders on mountains
Tectonic plate movements
Earthquake upheavals
Boulders thrown

Earths thaw
Washed and weathered
(Like warm water
Gushing from my bath tap
Wearing down the grime of my tensions)
The boulder became a stone
Tossed and churned
Till it fell
Just a pebble
A beautiful
Small
Smooth pebble
On the beach
(Like the polished beauty of my nails)

The Mastercard advertisement claimed
The pebble was found
A moment shared
A connection through time

I hope this connection will be mine
Someday

Strange thoughts are born in a warm bath
Especially a warm bubble bath

'History of Earth in a pebble'. Yes, you will be remembered in your DNA wherever your offspring and theirs wander in space and time! Liked this.

I haven't had a bubble bath in ages, but I do find inspiration in the shower... and on long drives...

Which, as MasterCard would say, is priceless.

I remember this poem of Willows'...she is a wonderfully talented women, we share many likes and dreams, as do we.

The work on the shop has begun, it will take a week, then my new world begins...a space where all the magic evolves. How wonderful to work on my craft indoors and out of the weather, can't wait to see how it evolves...you know me, always thinking and conjuring...ha!

Be afraid...

Smooch!

Strange thoughts indeed! All mine have to do with the impossible daydream.

I think sometimes all the thoughts, strange or not, in the bath is because we finally have time to just sit and think. Love what you did with this one.
Great Magpie! :-)

History, geology, and a cleansing bath with meditation, can't think it gets much better than that. Love the way you worded your way through a very delightful read.
