AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

J is for Joie de Vivre

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Spring is slowly unfurling. And last Sunday, the first waves of warm weather descended.
Here, at Dromana beach on the Mornington Peninsula, many wandered to express their individual
joie de vivre.

Read the newspaper headlines!)

ABC Wednesday Round 3 ~ J is for Joie de Vivre
~

Well-screened in white hat
She dances in heady worlds
Far far somewhere else
~
He browses the news
Time to... hangs near his left arm
He spies Court drama...
~
Mischief throws some sand
Thrill seeking dares the challenge
Joy waits in limbo
~
Older brother ducks
Face swiftly buries in sand
Beach drama begins
~
Sliced togetherness
Enjoying new beach weather
Solo joie de vivre
~

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Young child, full of joie de vivre, enjoying Spring on Dromana beach. Mum had a wonderful time trying to keep up with this young soul on the run!

Great choice for your ABC post today! Nice to see spring by the water images as we move into the fall.

The shot could have been taken anywhere - certainly around the shores I've frequented.

Nice picture of this Australian beach. There will be no crocs as in North Queensland, I suppose. I also like your poem!

I love the look on the little boy's face as he JOYFULLY flings the sand in the air.

Looks like everyone was having such fun along the beach. It's always uplifting to see children enjoying themselves.

Joie de vivre! What a great word! What a great thing! No one expresses it the way a child does!
