AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Ruby Bather

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Kinda bathing in the chill winter waters at Dromana beach, Mornington Peninsula
~
Ruby Tuesday prompt
~
NOTE: This pic complements those in my Odd Shot Monday posting ( see below). These 2 guys are part of a (football team?) group who briefly braved the icy waters.
~

I felt like a spy
Skulking around
Trying to capture
These bathing stars
~
Securing
A subtle vantage spot
On a beach is
No easy achievement
~
Why don't trees grow in sand?
Right near waves?
A nice chunky shrub would be
Ideal!
Perhaps a bird hide?
Now there's a thought!
But dream on!
~
So I consoled myself with
Distance
~
Finally
The only stray
Semi-co-operative shrub
(Back behind the beach wall)
Opened a small window on
The dialogue between
A black jacket and
A ruby parka

As I peep through the shadows with you I feel like two little girls, part of a conspiracy, knowing they will be caught...oooo, boys have cooties!!!

Gemma,

You would pass for a paparazzi photographer. And the write up(poem) that accompany the intriguing photograph made it even more interesting.

You are making your reader lurk behind the bushes with you feeling that certain thrilling fear of being-caught-anytime-soon-oh-God-please-no! kind of thing.

I find the shot and the story really amusing.

I wish you well.

After having had a look at all your freezing bathers - I'll stay on land.

Very interesting -- what they're doing. LOL! I guess, I'd feel like a spy too, because if I were there, I'd do the same thing -- I'd pull out my camera. ;-)

Best Ruby Tuesday yet! Imagine if they caught you hiding in the bushes taking photos of them! Ha! Gosh, how would you explain your way out of that one? "Oh guys I'm simply wanting to feature you on my Ruby Tuesday blog post & share you with the world" ...hehe. I'm betting they'd be chuffed about it!
